We are extremely proud that the Second Baptist Pumpkin Patch at has become a fall tradition for hundreds of individuals and families in East Memphis. For over fifteen years, volunteers, neighbors, guests and friends from the community have helped create a place of welcome, kindness, fun, and play in our church’s front yard. In our patch, for a month, all kinds of people representing all areas of the city say “yes 2 pumpkins” and come together under the umbrella of Christian hospitality.
In the book of Hebrews, the author writes, “Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” This spirit is the foundation our patch and we hope the mutual love shared in our patch – from our first unload to the last sale – can overflow into the lives of our visitors and out into Memphis and beyond.
