Nativity Nights on the Square

More than 100 nativity scenes representing over 45 countries have been selected from a private collection. We will be showcasing the Nativity Story as it is envisioned by people from the world over, reflecting many diverse aspects of each of their native countries. From folk craftsmen to silversmiths, the artists present the values and personalities of their cultures through the various media and artistic styles, as well as through the content of each scene including local costume, dwellings, and the often significant selections of animals and gifts included in each scene. Many of these nativity scenes are works of art in and of themselves, and the opportunity to see this diverse collection assembled together from all six inhabited continents is a great opportunity for the entire community.
