The Differential Driving Program is designed to support autistic and neurodivergent students through structured, individualized driver education. The program includes 30 hours of combined classroom and simulator instruction, delivered in shorter lesson blocks and small class sizes to support attention, processing, and comfort.
Students receive 18 one-hour behind-the-wheel driving lessons with a trained instructor, allowing for consistent practice, repetition, and skill-building at an individualized pace. Instruction emphasizes clear communication, real-world driving scenarios, and confidence development in a low-stress, supportive environment.
The Tennessee road test is included as part of the program, helping reduce anxiety and ensuring continuity from instruction through testing. This program is ideal for students who benefit from flexibility, structure, and a patient, neurodiversity-affirming approach to learning to drive.
