Blytheville was founded by Henry Blythe, a Methodist clergyman, in 1879 and was incorporated in 1889. Blytheville was the home of R&B singer Dee Clark and actor George Hamilton. Blytheville was the location set in a science fiction story titled, "Chewed Out" Motown Legend, Junior Walker, was born in Blytheville.
